$2000 will be awarded to the very best work of literature that creatively re-mixes our selection of talented NZ writers’ works.
There will be up to 5 winners selected. The four runners up will win a fine selection of Victoria University Press books.
All 5 winners will be published in a Mebooks ebook alongside the original authors’ works. That ebook will be Creative Commons licensed so that it can continue to be used, shared and built upon by others.
We also have a special prize pool for the best entries from New Zealand Primary and Secondary students. Selected winning student entries will also be published in the ebook.

Specific Instructions:
Your entry must be no more than 800 words and you must remix at least two of the the selected authors’ works from the list above.
Your final entry must be Creative Commons Licensed and you need to make it publicly available online.
Your entry can contain a range of media (images, sound, and video) but do think about how this might translate into an ebook. If you do additional content (other than the selected authors’ works) then:
- You must have the rights and permission to use all content. Remember to always check the usage rights on the content owners’ sites.
- You need to provide the details of all content that you use when you submit your entry.
